In accordance with the Institutional Regulations and the rules governing the fee for access, with or without a shuttle service, in Venice and the small islands of the Venetian Lagoon, an additional fee is charged to day-trippers who do not stay overnight and plan to visit the historic city centre from Friday to Sunday or on public holidays, from 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM. The fee will be from EUR 5.00 to 10.00 per day, depending on the date of booking. After payment, tourists must have a confirmation. Exempt from this fee are children under 14; residents of Venice and the Veneto region; people working or studying in Venice. Guests staying overnight are also exempt from this fee and must pay the city tax at the accommodation facilities.
A cleaning tax is not included in the reservation price and is payable separately at the hotel.

If guests are staying at a hotel within Venice and they need to pay a tourist tax, they are exempt from the access fee, but must have a QR code indicating the stay.
To get a QR code, visit the municipal website https://cda.ve.it , select Request Exemption, then select I am a guest in an accommodation in Venice and click Request Exemption. Enter the arrival and departure dates.
On the data entry screen, enter the name of the hotel (after entering the name of the hotel, you should see HOTEL METROPOLE [CASTELLO,4149] - code 305), then add the names of other guests in the Add holder field.
Save the purchased vouchers in digital form and, if they have been verified, present them to authorized personnel at the main access points of the city.
